Junior Wimbledon - Doubles

MANILA, Philippines – Wimbledon Boys’ Doubles No. 3 seeds Filipino-American Raymond Sarmiento and Denis Kudla of the United States marched on to the 2nd Round at the expense of Filipino Francis Casey Alcantara and Briton Oliver Golding.

The American pair trounced Alcantara and Golding in the opening round, 6-1, 6-4, on Wednesday.

Sarmiento and Kudla will next face the British tandem of Liam Broady and Tom Farquharson at Court 5 on Thursday.

Another Filipino, Jeson Patrombon, and his partner, Ahmed Triki of Tunisia, also lost in straight sets in the Wimbledon Boys’ Doubles event.

Patrombon and Triki were defeated by the No. 2 seeds Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Mate Pavic of Croatia, 6-3, 6-2.

Wimbledon’s Thursday schedule is headlined by the Ladies’ Singles Semifinals.

The matches of Russian Vera Zvonareva vs Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova and Czech Petra Kvitova vs American Serena Williams will be played on Centre Court. – With a report from Wimbledon.org
